Help Students Develop a Passion for Learning

At Paideia Learning, we believe education is about more than acquiring facts and information. We partner with families to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and the habits of intellectual wonderings, thoughtful inquiry, and joyful discovery in every child.

We're looking for educators who are eager to share both their knowledge and their spirit of inquiry with young people. Our teachers create classrooms where thoughtful questions are welcomed, ideas are explored, and students are challenged to seek truth, grow in wisdom, and delight in discovery. If you're looking for a flexible, part-time teaching opportunity in a warm, collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Teach at Paideia?

Teaching at Paideia is different from teaching in a traditional classroom.

Our hybrid model combines the best of classroom instruction with parent-supported learning at home. Students attend classes twice each week, while parents guide learning during the remaining days using prepared curriculum and online resources.

As a teacher, your role is to:

  • Inspire students through engaging classroom instruction

  • Bring curriculum to life through discussion, projects, demonstrations, and labs

  • Encourage students to ask thoughtful questions and think critically

  • Partner with parents as they continue learning at home

Because the curriculum, scope and sequence, and online coursework is already developed, teachers are able to focus on what they do best: building relationships with students and making learning meaningful.

Our Teaching Philosophy

We believe students learn best when they are actively engaged.

Rather than simply memorizing information, our classrooms encourage students to ask questions, analyze ideas, discuss multiple perspectives, and make meaningful connections.

Whether students are exploring hypotheses through research and science experiments, creating artwork and discovering the world of music, or evaluating historical evidence and engaging in discussion, our goal is the same: to cultivate thoughtful, curious learners who enjoy discovering the world around them.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking educators who:

  • Have strong knowledge of the subject they teach

  • Enjoy working with children and teenagers

  • Love learning and sharing that enthusiasm with others

  • Are organized, dependable, and well prepared

  • Value respectful discussion and thoughtful questions

  • Appreciate the important partnership between parents and teachers

  • Model integrity, kindness, and professionalism

Teacher certification is not required. We welcome applicants with degrees, professional experience, or demonstrated expertise in their subject area.

What You'll Do

Hybrid teachers:

  • Teach small classes in a welcoming classroom environment

  • Implement a prepared curriculum

  • Expand lessons through projects, demonstrations, discussion, and hands-on learning

  • Grade a small number of assignments each week using Canvas

  • Communicate with parents regarding student learning

  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff

Class sizes are intentionally small, allowing teachers to know their students well and create meaningful learning experiences.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time hourly positions

  • Starting from $35 per instructional hour

  • Paid weekly preparation hours

  • Flexible schedule

  • Small class sizes

  • Supportive, collaborative faculty

  • Curriculum and classroom resources provided

Our hybrid core classes meet twice each week throughout the school year, allowing teachers to balance teaching with other professional and personal commitments.

A Team That Loves What They Do

Our staff are here because they believe in our mission.

They are servant-hearted, collaborative, and committed to educational excellence. We value teachers who continually grow in their craft and who enjoy investing in the lives of children and young people.

If you know someone who would thrive in our warm and supportive culture, we'd be grateful if you shared this opportunity with them.
